Privacy Policy
The short version
- No sign-up. The App creates an anonymous ID for you (no name, email or Apple ID). Your scripts, settings and video recordings are stored on your device. We don't upload them.
- Voice follow uses Apple's speech recognition. Depending on your device and language, Apple processes speech on your iPhone or on Apple's servers. We never receive your audio.
- Only when you use an AI feature is the text you send (your topic or script) passed through our server to our AI provider, Google (Gemini API), to write the result. We don't keep it.
- No ads, no ad tracking, no selling of data.
1. Who we are
NoRetake ("the App") is operated by Mobixoft LLC ("we", "us"). For any privacy question, contact mobixoftapps@gmail.com.
2. Information stored only on your device
- Scripts and settings: the scripts you write or import and your prompter preferences are stored locally in the App.
- Recordings ("takes"): videos you record are saved in the App's storage on your device. They are added to your Photos library only when you choose "Save to Photos", and shared only when you use the share sheet.
- Onboarding answers: what you use the App for, the problems you pick, and your measured speaking pace are kept on your device to personalize the App. A summary of them is also attached to your purchase profile (see section 6).
Deleting the App deletes this data. We have no copy of it.
3. Microphone, speech recognition and camera
- Microphone and speech recognition are used only while the prompter is listening (Follow and Voice modes). Speech is converted to text by Apple's Speech framework, on your device when your device and language support it, otherwise by Apple. Apple's handling is described in its privacy policy. The App uses the resulting text only to move the script and does not store or send it anywhere.
- Camera is used only in Record mode. Video is written to your device; it is not uploaded.
- You can decline any permission. The App keeps working with features that don't need it (for example, steady scrolling and a reading demo).
4. AI features
When you use AI Assist (write, shorten, change tone, hook ideas, fix grammar) or the first-script step during setup, the App sends to our server:
- the text needed for the request: your topic or your script, and options such as tone, target length, language and what you use the App for;
- the anonymous user ID the App created for you (see section 5; not linked to your name, email, Apple ID or advertising identifier);
- an App Check token. The App uses Firebase App Check with Apple's App Attest: your device produces a cryptographic attestation that the request comes from a genuine, unmodified copy of NoRetake, which Apple and Google verify. It contains no personal information and lets us block requests from scripts and modified apps.
Our server runs on Cloudflare and forwards the text to Google (the paid Gemini API) to generate the result, which is streamed back to you. We do not store your text on our servers, and we ask Google not to store the request either. Under its paid-service terms, Google does not use this content to improve its products and may keep it for a limited period to detect abuse and comply with law.
To prevent abuse and control costs, our server counts AI requests per anonymous user ID and per network (IP address, or IPv6 network prefix). These counters contain no content and are deleted automatically within about two days. Cloudflare may process IP addresses and request metadata in its standard logs.
Don't include sensitive personal information in AI requests. AI output may be inaccurate; review it before you use it.
5. Anonymous account and purchases
Anonymous account. When you first open the App, it signs you in to Firebase Authentication (Google) anonymously. This creates a random user ID with no name, email or Apple ID attached. The App uses it to authenticate AI requests and as your purchase profile ID at RevenueCat. Firebase Remote Config, also from Google, lets us adjust app settings (such as the free script limit) without an update.
Payments are processed by Apple. We never see your payment details. We use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions and purchases. RevenueCat receives purchase and subscription status, your anonymous user ID, basic device and app information (such as OS version, country and app version), and an Apple Search Ads attribution token, which tells us which ad campaign, if any, led to an install. Apple provides this token without using your advertising identifier, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites. When you use AI, our server may ask RevenueCat whether your anonymous user ID has an active Pro plan.

We do not sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs.
7. Notifications
If you start a free trial, the App may ask to send you one local reminder before the trial ends. It is scheduled on your device.
8. Your rights and choices
- Ask us to delete your anonymous Firebase account by emailing us from the App's Settings or with your request; deleting the App removes it from your device.
- Delete local data by deleting scripts and takes in the App, or by deleting the App.
- Withdraw permissions at any time in iOS Settings.
- Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete or object to processing of personal data. Email us and we'll help, including with data held by RevenueCat about your purchases.
Where the GDPR applies, we rely on contract (to provide features you request, such as AI writing and purchases) and legitimate interests (preventing abuse, measuring which campaigns work). Data may be processed in the United States and other countries where our providers operate.
9. Children
The App is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
10. Changes
We'll update this page when our practices change and revise the date above. Significant changes will be highlighted in the App or on this page.
